Use this table for initial selection, then confirm exposure time, cycle frequency, thickness and fixture design against the actual process.
| Grade | Continuous-use temperature | Short-duration peak | ESD option | Typical positioning |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FNB-1680 | 280°C | 320°C | Target surface resistance around 1 × 108 Ω* | General high-temperature fixtures |
| FNB-2680 | 300°C | 350°C | Target surface resistance around 1 × 108 Ω* | Demanding repeated thermal cycles |
| FNB-3680 | 320°C | 380°C | Target surface resistance around 1 × 108 Ω* | Flagship high-temperature applications |
* Confirm the required ESD grade, test method and acceptance range before ordering. Short-duration peak temperature is not a continuous-use rating.
Why FNB
Three grades provide continuous-use ratings up to 320°C and a short-duration peak rating up to 380°C.
Anti-static grades are available with a target surface-resistance level around 1 × 108 Ω for sensitive electronic production.
Designed to resist deformation, layer separation and blistering during machining and grade-appropriate thermal operation.
Supports clean pockets, openings and thin-wall features while helping reduce cutting resistance, tool overheating and premature tool wear.
Product Overview
FNB synthetic stone combines glass-fiber reinforcement with a high-strength thermoset resin system for PCB assembly tooling that requires thermal stability, mechanical strength and accurate CNC machining.
The material is suitable for solder-paste printing, component placement, wave soldering, reflow support and PCB handling. Its stable composite structure helps a correctly designed pallet retain flatness through repeated, grade-appropriate thermal cycles.
Low thermal conductivity helps control heat transfer through the fixture, reducing the risk of thermally induced PCB distortion and supporting repeatable soldering results.
The peak rating applies to brief exposure of approximately 10–20 seconds. Within the selected grade's limit, the material is designed to resist deformation, blistering and interlaminar separation.
Selection note: final suitability also depends on cycle frequency, sheet thickness, fixture geometry, mechanical load, cleaning method and the complete process profile.
SMT Pallet Functions
Supports thin substrates and flexible circuits during printing, placement, handling and thermal processing.
Provides stable positioning for PCBs with irregular outlines, cut-outs or non-standard geometries.
Allows multiple boards or panels to be carried in one fixture to improve line utilization and throughput.
Supports the PCB through reflow and wave soldering to help reduce bending under thermal and mechanical load.
Wave Solder Process
FNB synthetic stone maintains useful physical properties as temperature increases within the selected grade's operating range. This makes it suitable for precision-machined wave-solder pallets and selective-solder fixtures that must protect components, control solder exposure and remain dimensionally stable through repeated cycles.
Application Range
Grade selection, thickness and fixture design should be confirmed against the actual process conditions.
