Why FNB

Engineered for Reliable Fixture Production

Thermal Performance up to 380°C

Three grades provide continuous-use ratings up to 320°C and a short-duration peak rating up to 380°C.

Controlled ESD Options

Anti-static grades are available with a target surface-resistance level around 1 × 108 Ω for sensitive electronic production.

Stable Composite Structure

Designed to resist deformation, layer separation and blistering during machining and grade-appropriate thermal operation.

Efficient CNC Machining

Supports clean pockets, openings and thin-wall features while helping reduce cutting resistance, tool overheating and premature tool wear.

Product Overview

Glass-Fiber Composite Material for SMT and Soldering Fixtures

FNB synthetic stone combines glass-fiber reinforcement with a high-strength thermoset resin system for PCB assembly tooling that requires thermal stability, mechanical strength and accurate CNC machining.

Performance in SMT Assembly

The material is suitable for solder-paste printing, component placement, wave soldering, reflow support and PCB handling. Its stable composite structure helps a correctly designed pallet retain flatness through repeated, grade-appropriate thermal cycles.

Low thermal conductivity helps control heat transfer through the fixture, reducing the risk of thermally induced PCB distortion and supporting repeatable soldering results.

Understanding the Peak Rating

The peak rating applies to brief exposure of approximately 10–20 seconds. Within the selected grade's limit, the material is designed to resist deformation, blistering and interlaminar separation.

Selection note: final suitability also depends on cycle frequency, sheet thickness, fixture geometry, mechanical load, cleaning method and the complete process profile.

SMT Pallet Functions

How Synthetic Stone Supports PCB Production

01

Thin PCB Support

Supports thin substrates and flexible circuits during printing, placement, handling and thermal processing.

02

Irregular Board Handling

Provides stable positioning for PCBs with irregular outlines, cut-outs or non-standard geometries.

03

Multi-Up Productivity

Allows multiple boards or panels to be carried in one fixture to improve line utilization and throughput.

04

Warpage Control

Supports the PCB through reflow and wave soldering to help reduce bending under thermal and mechanical load.

Wave Solder Process

Improving Fixture Control and Production Efficiency

FNB synthetic stone maintains useful physical properties as temperature increases within the selected grade's operating range. This makes it suitable for precision-machined wave-solder pallets and selective-solder fixtures that must protect components, control solder exposure and remain dimensionally stable through repeated cycles.

  1. Reduced handling contamination: helps prevent direct contact with gold fingers, pads and plated through-holes.
  2. Bottom-side component protection: covers selected SMT components while exposing only the areas required for localized soldering.
  3. PCB support: helps control bending and movement as the assembly passes through the soldering process.
  4. Standardized line handling: converts different PCB outlines into consistent external fixture dimensions for conveyors and production equipment.
  5. Multi-cavity processing: enables several boards to be processed in one pallet to improve production throughput.
  6. Solder containment: helps reduce solder overflow and surface contamination by controlling exposed soldering windows.
